The Women's International League of Peace & Freedom is sponsoring the free return screening of the Josh Fox documentary, GASLAND. If you know people who may benefit from learning about the risks to health and property of risky oil operations, bring them to see this. This film one that originally alerted many folks to the dangerous effects of extreme oil extraction.
When filmmaker Josh Fox is asked to lease his land for drilling, he embarks on a cross-country odyssey uncovering a trail of secrets, lies and contamination. A recently drilled nearby Pennsylvania town reports that residents are able to light their drinking water on fire. This is just one of the many absurd and astonishing revelations of a new country called GASLAND. Part travelogue, part expose, part mystery, part bluegrass banjo meltdown.
